Meru Networks Wins Internet Telephony
Magazine's Product Of The Year Award For Fourth Time
Meru's 802.11n Enterprise Wireless LAN Offerings Recognized For
Outstanding Innovation
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 23, 2008 – Meru Networks has
announced that Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC) Internet
Telephony Magazine has named its IEEE 802.11n family of wireless
LAN products as a recipient of its tenth annual 2007 Product of
the Year Award.
Introduced in April 2007, Meru's wireless LAN product suite
based on the high-performance IEEE 802.11n draft standard
includes the AP300 dual-radio access points, the MC5000 modular
five-blade chassis controller for up to 1,000 access points, and
a three-tier Traffic Distribution System to handle the increased
network load driven by 802.11n. The unique channel-layering
capability of Meru's architecture allows the product family to
deliver sustained high wireless capacity throughout a wireless
LAN deployment.
"802.11n has been called the most significant advance in the
history of wireless LANs," said Rachna Ahlawat, Meru's vice
president of strategic marketing. "As the first vendor to
introduce 802.11n products and have them deployed by customers,
we believe we have taken an important step toward realizing the
all-wireless enterprise, where the wireless infrastructure
becomes the accepted delivery mechanism for business-critical
applications."
"Meru has proven they are committed to quality and excellence
while addressing real needs in the marketplace," said Rich
Tehrani, TMP president and Internet Telephony editor-in-chief.
"Internet Telephony is pleased to grant a 2007 Product of the
Year award to the Meru 802.11n product family. We're proud to
honor their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to
more innovative solutions from Meru in the future."
The 2007 award makes Meru Networks a four-time winner of
Internet Telephony's Product of the Year award. The company also
has twice won the magazine's Internet Telephony Excellence
award.
A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in
the February 2008 issue of Internet Telephony magazine.
