WI-FI ALLIANCE® AWARDS INTEROPERABILITY
CERTIFICATION FOR MERU NETWORKS WIRELESS LAN SYSTEM
Meru's AP 200 Series High-Performance Access Point for Converged
Voice and Data Wireless LANs Recertified for WPA2 and 802.11
Sunnyvale, CA — November 16, 2006
Meru Networks, the global innovation leader in wireless
infrastructure for the All-Wireless Enterprise, today announced
the Wi-Fi Alliance recertified its latest Access Point 200 (AP
200) Series products for 802.11 and WPA2™ interoperability.
Although the AP 200 products had previously been certified for
802.11, Meru resubmitted the most current version of the product
to the Wi-Fi Alliance to validate interoperability and
conformance to the published standards specifications. The AP
200 module passed interoperability tests for both 802.11a/b/g
and WPA2.
"Wi-Fi Certification is a clear indication that a company is
committed to quality and customer satisfaction," said Wi-Fi
Alliance managing director Frank Hanzlik. "The recertification
of products is an excellent way to ensure ongoing conformance
with existing and evolving standards and interoperability with
other manufacturers’ Wi-Fi equipment."
A key component of Meru’s Wireless LAN System, the AP 200
delivers unsurpassed Wi-Fi performance in conjunction with Meru
Wireless LAN Controllers. Using a fourth-generation WLAN
architecture based on coordinated, intelligent access points at
the edge, Meru’s WLAN System is the only Wi-Fi certified
platform that delivers toll-quality wireless VoIP and
high-capacity data in a single infrastructure.
"Meru has delivered a Wi-Fi solution engineered to provide
vastly superior performance for voice, data and video
applications," said Joe Epstein, chief architect at Meru
Networks. "As expected, we proved again that our system conforms
to 802.11 industry standards, is certified interoperable and
delivers unique capabilities to support voice, data and video
over Wi-Fi."
"By recertifying its products with the Wi-Fi Alliance, Meru
Networks has shown a true commitment to wireless standards,"
said Jason Mueller, network communications engineer, University
of Iowa. "We are pleased with the latest version of the Meru
code and the recertification validates that it continues to be
interoperable with other products that are Wi-Fi certified."
