IVT Co-Founder and CTO Greg Pulier Recognized as
Rich Media Webcasting Visionary
Pulier selected by Streaming Media Magazine as one of most significant
contributors to the online video industry over the past decade
Los Angeles, CA - April 16, 2008, IVT, which
transforms the reach and impact of companies’ communications
with an industrial-strength suite of rich media webcasting
products, today congratulates Co-Founder and Chief Technology
Officer, Greg Pulier, for his selection by the editors of
Streaming Media Magazine as one of the original “Streaming Media
All-Stars.” Selected from more than 130 nominations, the
“Streaming Media All-Stars” are a distinguished group of 25
individuals who had the most significant impact on the
development of the online video industry over the last decade.
Pulier joins other award winners from a long list of prominent
companies including Microsoft, The Walt Disney Company, MTV
Networks, Akamai, Limelight, RealNetworks, NBC Universal,
VeriSign and Wachovia Bank.
"Our inaugural Streaming Media All-Star selections really
represent the hall of fame of people who have contributed to the
streaming media industry over the last 10 years. Greg Pulier is
a prime example of that level of contribution,” said Eric
Schumacher-Rasmussen, Editor, Streaming Media. “10 years ago,
Greg was creating interactive online video experiences when the
power of the network was not even mature.
Subsequently he has produced rich media webcasting products that
have revolutionized how businesses now use video webcasting to
communicate with employees, customers, partners and investors.
Greg is exactly the kind of hall of fame contributor that has
earned this kind of recognition."
Over the past 10 years, Greg Pulier has been at the forefront of
the streaming media industry. Pulier envisioned and developed
IVT’s patented webcasting software products, which currently
hold 5 patents with 14 pending. Pulier’s pioneering achievements
include:
• Envisioning and launching IVT MediaPlatform, the world’s first
industrial-strength enterprise-class webcasting software product
to answer the industry’s need for a powerful tool that could
create, manage, publish and measure rich media webcasts. To date
ten’s of thousands of webcasts and millions of viewers have
benefited from this achievement.
• Democratizing the use of video webcasting within the
enterprise through the creation of IVT Studio. The self-service
video webcasting offering is the only software product in its
class aimed at the everyday PowerPoint users rather than the
media professional. IVT Studio has allowed employees from IBM,
Rohm & Haas and others to create, publish and measure the
response to their own video-based webcast presentations.
• The first to bring complete webcasting capabilities to the
enterprise through the software as a service (SaaS) delivery
model. This unique offering has enabled companies of all sizes
to immediately create and publish large scale rich media
webcasts to tens of thousands of viewers without a significant
investment in hardware, service providers or IT infrastructure.
• Pioneering a number of landmark webcasts in the early days of
the online video industry, including projects for Victoria’s
Secret, The Sopranos, HBO Boxing and others as well as producing
interactive online experiences including Kobe Bryant, Shaquille
O’Neill, Kathy Ireland, Heidi Klum and Will Smith.
“I’d like to formally thank Eric, Dan, Joel and everyone at
Streaming Media for their selection. It is an extraordinary
honor for me as well as all of my colleagues at IVT,” said
Pulier. “As the use and adoption of streaming media has
increased over the last decade, individuals and businesses alike
have discovered the power and importance of video-based
communications. With great anticipation I look forward to
working closely with Streaming Media to educate and excite the
marketplace about the new technologies that we are creating
everyday. This effort will allow individuals and organizations
of all sizes and shapes to connect and move audiences around the
world.”
“During his career, Greg has developed a number of patented
webcasting technologies that have made enterprise video more
accessible to the corporate world and has allowed many
organizations to bring webcasting in-house or to significantly
upgrade their existing programs,” said Phillip Whalen, President
and CEO, IVT. “His product innovations have impacted millions of
people and have empowered thousands of media professionals and
non-technical executives alike to tap into the power of
streaming media. On behalf of the company I would like to
officially congratulate Greg on this tremendous achievement.”
Greg Pulier will receive his award at Streaming Media East where
IVT will be exhibiting at booth #212 from May 21-22nd at New
York Hilton Hotel.
