Greystripe Wins Red Herring 100
Global Award for Advertising-Supported Take on Mobile Content
and AdWRAP Catalog Platform
Greystripe, the largest distributor of ad-supported mobile
games and applications and the creator of the first mobile
in-game advertising network, announced today that they have been
selected as a Red Herring 100 Global Winner, placing them
amongst the top 100 technology start-ups in the world.
Red Herring 100 winners and finalists from North America, Europe
and Asia over the last three years were eligible for this award.
The Red Herring editorial team used a very competitive process,
evaluating both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as
financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy
and ecosystem integration, to whittle down this pool of 1800
eligible promising companies to the 100 winners of this
first-time award.
"At Red Herring, we scour the industry to identify the best and
brightest technology companies that are transforming the current
markets and creating new ones," said Alex Vieux, Red Herring
Publisher. "The Red Herring 100 is our annual list of the most
promising private companies. Like Google, eBay, Salesforce.com
and other previous Red Herring 100 alumni, these 100 have the
potential to become the next titans of technology."
Greystripe was selected for their leadership in mobile
advertising and for their AdWRAP Catalog Platform which is
driving the company's global growth. The Platform enables
operators, mobile Web sites, Internet portals, wireless
operators, and social communities to distribute Greystripe's
catalog of over 800 free and ad-supported mobile games from
publishers like Vivendi Mobile Games, Hands-On Mobile, and
Digital Chocolate to their users. Based on standard and open web
technologies, the Catalog Platform easily scales to serving
millions of downloads per day and is currently powering over 20
partners.
"We are honored to be recognized by Red Herring and to have been
chosen from a competitive field of successful start-ups from
around the world," said Michael Chang, CEO of Greystripe.
The winning companies were announced and celebrated at the Red
Herring Global event in Seattle, WA earlier in December.
