Adaptive Planning Named “Cool Vendor” By Leading Analyst Firm

Vendors Selected for "Cool Vendor Report" Are Innovative, Impactful and Intriguing

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA—April 03, 2007—Adaptive Planning, the leading provider of collaborative performance management solutions, announced today that it has been included in the list of “Cool Vendors” by Gartner, Inc., a leading information technology research and consulting firm. Adaptive Planning was listed in “Cool Vendors in Analytics, Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management, 2007,” a March 2007 report examining interesting and innovative vendors in the Business Intelligence (BI) and performance management category.

According to the report, “While the big pure-play BI vendors and the megavendors continue to battle it out in this market, behind the scenes there is a vibrant source of innovation to address unresolved problems.” The Software as a Service (SaaS) business model figured prominently, with three of the five companies profiled, including Adaptive Planning, providing on-demand SaaS solutions.

“Our mission is to make automated budgeting, forecasting, and reporting far easier and more accessible for midsized companies and divisions of large corporations,” said William A. Soward, chief executive officer of Adaptive Planning. “To do this, we are leveraging the two most powerful forces in enterprise software—SaaS and open source. We believe Gartner’s “cool vendor” evaluation affirms our approach to delivering unprecedented value to mid-market companies worldwide.”

Adaptive Planning’s easy-to-use, rapidly deployable solutions provide an alternative to Excel-based budgeting, forecasting, and reporting that enables companies to save time and better manage their businesses. Adaptive Planning is available in three editions—Express, Corporate, and Enterprise Edition—which offer increasingly rich features and enhanced support. Express Edition is available free of charge, while Corporate and Enterprise Editions are offered for affordable annual subscriptions. All editions can either be accessed as an on-demand, web-based service, or deployed on-site in a company’s datacenter.

Test driving Adaptive Planning is also easy. Companies can register for a free, full-use license for Express Edition or a free trial of Enterprise Edition. Both options can be accessed instantaneously by visiting
