Meru Networks, Inc. was founded in 2002 with a mission to pioneer the evolution of wireless LANs (WLAN) for converged networks and enable true Voice-over-IP mobility. Meru's objective is to deliver WLAN infrastructure products that enable the wireless client to operate the most demanding application. Like a number of WLAN companies, Meru has implemented measures to protect the enterprise's information assets as well as ease deployment and management. In addition, Meru has developed a series of technologies and a product suite that enhances wireless performance, reliability and return on investment.

Meru has deployed systems in more than 100 customer sites, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to major universities. Meru has been chosen as the WLAN infrastructure supplier for end-to-end Enterprise VoIP mobility solutions offered by a variety of global enterprises including Oki Electric, Hitachi High-Technologies and Fujitsu I-Networks.

Monitor Ventures was a seed investor in Meru Netwporks and invested in later rounds of funding. Other investors include: Bluestream Ventures, NeoCarta Ventures, Clearstone Ventures Partners and Evercore Ventures. Meru led a successful IPO on the NASDAQ in April of 2010.
