Berkeley Networks

Berkeley Networks developed a gigabit Ethernet switch that could be effectively interfaced with Windows NT (the first such cost-effective switch), as well as UNIX and other operating systems. The company's product could access a broad base of customers including those with Windows-based server environments.

Nick Mitsakos was an investor and Board Member from 1996-1999.

The company was sold in 1998 and 1999 (two-tier acquisition) to FORE Systems.
